The barrier-free ProfilPASS in Easy Language is the core of the COOCOU-Toolkit. It is an adaptation of the original ProfilPASS in terms of language and content. It has been specially developed for the needs of people with cognitive impairments and learning difficulties to enable them to use this proven instrument for competence assessment.

The barrier-free ProfilPASS in Easy Language is characterized by the following features:

• Use of Easy Language according to the specifications of the Research Centre for Easy Language of the University of Hildesheim in Germany
• Use of images for Easy Language to facilitate understanding and access to the texts
• Use of barrier-free PDF, also suitable for blind and visually impaired people
• Very abridged text passages
• Use of tables and fill-in assistances
• Content orientation towards the life situation, experiences and professional situation of people with cognitive impairments and learning difficulties
• Additional tool in the form of a biographical example to facilitate access to the text and transfer to the users' realities

The COOCOU-toolkit comprises 25 tools for competence assessment from different countries and with different methodological and contentual foci. Furthermore, the toolkit includes diverse guides, guidelines and manuals for counsellors, which contain relevant and supporting information on the barrier free counselling. Here, counsellors will have the opportunity to easily find and get access to competence assessment tools and apps that suit the needs of the cognitively impaired people and that will support and enrich the counselling process.

The COOCOU-Manual for Counsellors is an accompanying document for the COOCOU-Toolkit and the Barrier-free ProfilPASS in Easy Language. It provides background information as well as guidelines and suggestions for counsellors on how the COOCOU-Toolkit and the Barrier-free ProfilPASS in Easy Language can be applied.

The COOCOU-Curriculum for Counsellors is based on the COOCOU-Toolkit and the Manual for Counsellors. It provides guidance and suggestions for the training of counsellors both in terms of training content and methods.

Recently, all six COOCOU partner countries (Austria, Germany, Greece, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden) carried out a national research in order to identify the needs of the future users of the project outcomes. The comprehensive report represents a compilation of the partner’s findings and includes good practices as well as useful recommendations for the development of the COOCOU toolkit.
